Our Office Team

Maxine Edwards, Manager

Maxine is the Manager for Shoalhaven Neighbourhood Services Inc. Maxine leads the team to provide flexible opportunities to communities in the Shoalhaven that contribute to a resilient, connected, caring and vibrant community. 

Maxine has a Masters in Management, Diploma in Community Welfare and a Certificate IV in Disability Services. She has extensive experience working with volunteers and leading teams in the community services and disability sector as well as extensive experience providing direct care services to people with a disability. 

Maxine is passionate about leading a strong team to ensure that we continue to provide quality services to the people in our community.

Nadia Abu Gazaleh, Community Worker

Nadia is the Community Worker for our Community Services. Nadia supports the day-to-day running of our playgroup, women’s group and other new programs, organises community workshops and events, supports community members and groups through the provision of information and referral services, supervises students and assists in the day-to-day running of the Neighbourhood Centres.

Nadia has a Diploma in Community Welfare, a Certificate IV in Lifestyle and Leisure, Certificate lll in Frontline management, has several other short courses and has experience in delivering various programs. Nadia has worked for 18 years in the community and is passionate about early intervention, the rights of the Child and supporting people to find what is right for them.

Nadia enjoys knowing about what is happening in the local community to share and collaborate with others.

Lisa Milakovic, Operations Officer

Lisa is the Operations Officer for our Community Services programs. Lisa provides assistance to community members through the provision of information and referral services and advocacy support, processes Work and Development Order applications, supports and mentors our volunteers and provides a range of effective and efficient operational and logistic supports to Shoalhaven Neighbourhood Services Inc.

Lisa has a Certificate III in School Services and Business Administration and comes with extensive administration experience in a wide range of industries including community services, education, local government and private business.

Lisa is passionate about working for an organisation that has integrity and is committed to connecting with people in our community. My favourite quote is “be the reason somebody smiles today”, such a small gesture can have a huge impact.

Jacqui May, Administration Assistant

Jacqui is the Administration Assistant for our Aged Care and NDIS programs. Jacqui provides a range of effective and efficient administration supports and prepares and organises group activities for our clients and NDIS participants.

Jacqui has a Certificate III in Accounting, Accounts Administration, Aged Care and Children Services and has over 10 year’ experience in administration as well as experience delivering aged care services to people in their homes.

Jacqui is passionate about enjoying the outdoors and living life to the full and assisting others to achieve the same.

Our Management Committee

Our Management committee members take ultimate responsibility for the governance of the Organisation which involves focusing on the strategic direction, ensuring that the finances are sound, the operations are legal, and our procedures work.

Our committee members have a variety of qualifications and skills in a wide range of areas such as Community services, vocational education, accounting, local government, small business and law.

The committee members are elected each year at our AGM and are passionate about overseeing the operations and activities to ensure we fulfil our aims, objectives and meet funding agreements and legislative obligations.

Our Direct support workers

Our Direct support workers provide personalised services to our Aged Care clients and NDIS participants to enable them to achieve their goals and aspirations.

Our team of Direct Support workers have qualifications in Aged Care, disability and community services as well as extensive experience providing direct services to aged care clients and people with approved NDIS plans.

Our team members are committed to working individually with every person they support and providing the best service possible.

Our Volunteers

Our volunteers currently participate in a wide range of activities which support our Aged Care, NDIS and community services. These opportunities include reception, gardening, special events, assisting clients in their home or the community and even helping to facilitate programs and activities.

Our team of volunteers are people who are bright, friendly, caring and passionate about making a difference in our community. Our volunteers come with a wide range of qualifications, skills and experience or a strong desire to learn new skills.
