Volunteer with Shoalhaven Neighbourhood Services
Being a volunteer is a great way to meet new people, gain new skills and share your existing skills all while making a difference in our community and other people’s lives. We support a range of volunteering opportunities as listed below.
- Social Support – volunteers assist our clients and participants to remain independent in their home and reach their goals, this may include visiting them at home for a cuppa and a chat, assisting with shopping trips, appointments or outings, or assisting people to achieve their own personal goal.
- Customer service and administration – volunteers help create a warm and welcoming environment by providing reception duties at our Neighbourhood Centres, assistance to help people find the right information about services who can help them and other administrative tasks. We also have opportunities for you to assist with administrative tasks while not being at reception.
- Handyman and gardening – volunteers help to keep our buildings and grounds looking fresh and amazing.
- Facilitating or assisting with specific community projects, activities or special events – volunteers help us to create stronger communities by assisting at community events, facilitating or assisting with courses and activities for the community such as computer classes, art and craft workshops, or reading and playgroup activities for children and families.
If you have some spare time and an interest in connecting with your community – we’d love to hear from you. Please contact us to find out more about how you can volunteer and join our wonderful team.
