Join our team of volunteers

Shoalhaven Neighbourhood Services has a variety of areas where you can volunteer. We offer training, information and support to volunteers and recognise the invaluable contribution each and every person makes to our services and to the wider community.

Volunteering is a rewarding way to give back to community and a wonderful way to connect to your community if you are new to the area. Pop in and see us to find out more or contact us.

Current Volunteer Vacancies

Social Support Volunteers

If you are interested in making a difference in someone’s life and your own by offering:

  • Companionship by making a friendly home visit
  • Social support by taking someone out for lunch or a coffee
  • Assist them shopping
  • Accompany to appointments

Our Social Support Project currently has positions available. The average minimum time of a visit is approximately 2 hours per fortnight – however this is negotiated with the client and volunteer, and you can have more than one client if you wish. Volunteer opportunities are available for both men and women over 18 years.

The service reimburses volunteers for approved out of pocket expenses. While volunteering you will meet new people, learn new skills and put your existing skills to good use as well as gaining valuable work experience if you are looking for paid work.

So, If you have a few hours to spare on a regular basis, enjoy meeting and assisting people, and have your own comprehensively insured vehicle – then we would love to hear from you.

Management Committee Members

If you are interesting in being part of our Management Committee, we currently have positions vacant and would love to hear from you. Please contact us for further information about how you can make a difference.
