Gordon Cryer

Joined SNS Management Committee as Treasurer in 2011

“I retired from the workforce in February 2002, after 33 years in Canberra as a Commonwealth public servant in the Department of Defence. There followed eight years at Batemans Bay before I moved to the Shoalhaven in 2010.”

“I have been a volunteer for most of those years of retirement. I’ve had a fortunate easy life and, thanks to excellent superannuation, I am relatively financially secure. I looked around and decided to give a bit back to the community and I’ve generally deployed my strengths in words and numbers.

“Away from volunteering Gordon likes to keep mentally active studying all kinds of things including Spanish and German, scrabble, chess, Sudoku etc. My next project is to improve my fitness and succeed in a sustainable weight loss.”
